Roti Snack
If you have some left over rotis & no bhajji or you are not in a mood to have it... this a very quick snack... My aunt used to make it! It goes great with the afternoon chai.
INGREDIENTS
- Rotis - 3 to 4 or how many ever you have left over (tear into 1" pieces)
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - half tsp
- jeera - half tsp
- urad dal - 1 tsp
- hing - pinch
- salt to taste
- green chillies - as per taste (optional)
- curry leaves / kadipatta - few
Heat oil in a pan... add the mustard seeds once it sputters add jeera, urad dal, hing, kadi patta and green chillies
Saute till the urad dal turns light brown then add the roti pieces and saute till the oil lightly coats the roti pieces.
Leave it on sim till the roti's pieces gets a little crisp.
Serve with ketchup or just like that.
VARIATION
You could add onions and saute before you add the roti pieces.
You could also add some dry veggies... like peas, carrot, boiled potato... with some chat masala or garam masala.
Instead of the roti pieces you could add bread or bun torn into pieces.

don't use tomatoes... they make the whole thing soggy... i tried it once... the roti dissolves & forms lumps... its looks weired!
or try making it tomatoes almost dry... like chutney & then add the rotis!
