Simple & Quick Apple Slice

"I got this recipe from a cook show & added some changes of my own... My husband loves it... and its an easy & quick dessert"

INGREDIENTS
  • Vanilla Cake Mix - 1 pack
  • Self-raising flour - 3/4 cup
  • Butter - half cup (melted)
  • Sour Cream - 330ml
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp (or as per taste)
  • Pie Apple - 1 regular can
  • Cinnamon powder / dust (optional)
METHOD
  • Mix the cake mix and self-raising flour. Then add the butter and mix well. Put this mixture in a greased or lined baking pan and toss in a pre-heated oven (210C) for 15 mins or till it becomes golden brown
  • In a separate bowl mix the sour cream, sugar & pie apple. Make sure that you don't mash the apple. Leave medium apple pieces in the mixture. You can add a hint of cinnamon powder or cinnmon dust to this if you like the flavour.
  • Spread the sour cream and apple mix over the cake mix evenly and put it inside the over for another 15 mins or till light brown spots appear on top.
  • Take it out & let it cool. Put in in the fridge and serve cold
VARIATIONS
  • You could make apple stew at home & use that in stead of the pie apple tin
  • You could use sprinkles or other cake decoration to make it look different
  • You could bake it in a round dish and use it as a cake.
  • If you want a crisp base you can leave it in the oven for a little longer
