Chocolate Roulade
My friend Hemisha has now turned to cooking as her fav hobby... This is one the delicious desserts she has conjured up in her kitchen... Thanks for sharing Hemi!!!
INGREDIENTS
- 6 eggs
- 280 gms bittersweet chocolate
- 56 gms unsalted butter at room temp. sugar
- 2 tsp of chilli powder
- 2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 -1 1/2 cup whipping cream.
- Good quality cocoa for dusting.
METHOD
- Pre heat oven to 350 deg F( 175 deg C).
- Separate the egg yolks and egg whites. Keep aside.
- Melt the butter in a thick pan put the chocolate in it and mix till it has sauce consistency. Let it cool down.
- Whisk the yolks and 1 tbs sugar to form soft ribbons sprinkle the chilli powder in it.
- Now fold the cooled chocolate mix into the yolks.
- Whisk the whites with 1 tbs sugar till soft peaks.
- Now fold the whites in the yolk-chocolate mix.
- Take a tray with a little depth like a cookie trey oil it if necessary and pour the mix in it and level it properly.
- Put this in the oven for 8-10 mins.
- Take it out damp a clean cloth n spread in on the cake.
- While the cake cools, take the whipping cream add 1- 11/2 tbs sugar n 2 tsp cinnamon powder n whip till thick.
- Take a flat surface preferably your kitchen platform. And invert the cooled cake on the platform.
- Now spread the whipped cream on the cake evenly.
- Roll the cake from top to bottom.
- Put in the fridge to chill.
- Before u serve dust it with cocoa powder.
- Cut and enjoy the sinful bliss!!
